SRINAGAR: A Government Primary School in Malpora, Saderkoot Bala, in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district was closed on Friday after intense rainfall triggered a flash flood, forcing mud and debris into the school premises.
Officials said heavy rain led to a flash flood in the village, inundating classrooms with mud and debris and making the school unsafe for normal functioning.
The school was subsequently shut as a precautionary measure.
The incident highlights the impact of heavy rainfall across parts of Jammu and Kashmir, with authorities continuing to monitor weather conditions and assess damage in affected areas.
