SRINAGAR: Government forces on Wednesday launched a cordon and search operation in Koil village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Reports said that a joint team of army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned off the Koil village.

They said the CASO was launched in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.

Sources said that large numbers of forces have been deployed in the area and door to door search operation is going on.

According to a local who spoke over the phone said that many persons have been taken by the army along with them and are asked to frisk houses. He alleged that army has also thrashed many youth in the village.
