Intense clashes erupted in Hajin area of Bandipora district in northern part of Kashmir on Wednesday soon after forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO).
The CASO was launched in Naid Mohallah Hajin after input about the presence of militants, reports said.
Reports said that following the reports about the presence of militants, personnel of 14 RR along with SOG and CRPF started the operation however scores of youth took to streets and started pelting stones on forces to disrupt the operation.
Forces lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the protesters triggering clashes in the area.
The CASO and clashes were going on no when reports last came in.
