Four Villages Have 2377 Kanals With Army, Legally

The state government on Tuesday said there are 991 kanals of land with the army in Khiram, Dooni Pawa village in south Kashmir’s district Islamabad. The information was sought by Peerzada Mansoor Hussain.

Similarly, an area of 1386 Kanals is in possession of army in its adjoining villages. It includes villages of Nowgam, Kuthiar, Sambroona and Khundroo that have 7 kanals, 376 kanals, 301 kanals, and 701 kanals, respectively in Army possession.

In all these cases, the government said, the Army is paying rent but is not enhancing it.
