SRINAGAR: Fresh snowfall and snowstorms swept the upper reaches of Zojila Pass on Thursday night, while a thin layer of snow covered the Amarnath Cave shrine in south Kashmir.
The snowfall brought a fresh spell of wintry weather to the higher elevations of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, partly to generally cloudy conditions were likely across the Union Territory from October 9 to 10, with light rain possible at isolated places and light snowfall expected over higher reaches.
The weather office also forecast the possibility of light rain and snowfall over higher elevations on October 14 and 15.
Zojila Pass is a key mountain route connecting the Kashmir Valley with Ladakh.
