SRINAGAR: The Ladakh Home Department has appointed 2015-batch IPS officer Fulzele Piyush Nirakar as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Leh, as part of an administrative reshuffle.

Nirakar, a direct-recruit IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, succeeds Shree Raam Raghavan, who has been transferred to the Cabinet Secretariat in New Delhi.
Before his latest appointment, Nirakar served in Ladakh as SSP Security and SSP Telecommunications. He has also been designated as a member of the reconstituted Ladakh Police (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Board, which is responsible for conducting technology-enabled recruitment for the Union Territory’s police department.
Under the same administrative order, Traffic SSP Vikas Kumar has been assigned the additional charge of SSP Security and Police Telecommunication until further orders.
Nirakar is from Maharashtra and belongs to the 2015 batch of the Indian Police Service.
