Hurriyat Conference (g) head, Syed Ali Geelani has decided to participate in the meeting of foreign ministries of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Kashmir contact group which is going to be held in New York from 27 September to 1st October.
According to Hurriyat (g) statement, “necessary formality in this regard has been started.”
“Hurriyat Chairperson has many times in the past 25 years got invitation from this world body but due to the non-availability of the travel documents, he could not participate in those meetings,” the statement said adding, “an important conference of foreign ministers of the Muslim countries is being held in New York and Geelani has been especially invited in that.”
While expressing his wish to participate in the scheduled conference, Geelani said, “he will try his level best to represent the voices and concerns of the subjugated Kashmiris and will aware the world leaders about the serious and grave situations of Kashmir and will impress upon them to bat for the resolution of the long pending Kashmir dispute according to its historical perspective.”
