Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani in a categorical way rejected and denounced Kashmir policy of BJP and said that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and it has never been a part of India.
“India occupied state with its military might and it turned down all resolutions accorded in United National and deviated from its commitment with international community as regards to Kashmir dispute. Its occupation carries no weight and is neither valid nor legitimate. We have presented 6 lakh precious lives and in 1947 in Jammu Province more than two lakh innocent people were brutally massacred. Our honor and dignity were always at stake and thousands of women were molested and sexually assaulted at the dent of gun. Thousands of structures and properties were razed to ground,” Geelani said in a statement to KNS.
“Our youth are detained and subjected to brutal torment and more than ten thousand youth disappeared in forces custody and nobody knows about thousands of youth buried in unmarked graves,” he added.
While referring to Narinder Modi regime, Geelani said, “Keeping in view his policy and approach it depicts that his record and regard with respect to minority is not friendly. During his tenure as Chief Minister in Gujrat more than three thousand members from Muslim community were brutally killed and many burnt to death, properties looted and set to fire,” he alleged.
Referring to murder of a parliamentarian late Ehsan Jafri, Geelani said, “He along with 67 other Muslims were killed by communal forces. Narinder Modi is a staunch and a basic member of RSS and BJP and propagates the fundamentals propounded by RSS. Their anti-Muslim stance and objectives are no more hidden and their main objective is to make India a Hindu Rashtra. After taking the seat of power at Delhi they have changed their strategy, charged situation with their fanatic ideology and have adopted power politics to fulfill their agenda. They do not follow a fair policy with respect to Kashmir, instead are hell-bent to exploit its might and suppressive policy against people of Kashmir,” Geelani alleged.
“They unnoticed our struggle and that is reason we have called for election boycott. We hope that all sects including Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Christians’ will boycott all this drama,” he added.
Taking dig at BJP and RSS leadership, he said, “We are aware about their intentions and their conspiracies are no more hidden and we in our passionate appeal to minority community call their attention to prove their wisdom and not to fall prey in their trap. They are promoting horse trading and try to bribe voters by offering incentives.”
