Hours after Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani arrived in Valley from New Delhi on Wednesday; authorities placed him under house arrest.
“A large contingent of police reached the residence of Geelani Sahab at around 8:30 pm and informed him that he cannot go out,” Hurriyat (G) sources told Kashmir Life.
They added that Geelani was put under house arrest evening and the police personnel were deployed outside the gate of his residence.
Sources said that Geelani is scheduled to hold anti-election rallies in every district of the valley and all the arrangements for the same have been made in advance.
