Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chief Syed Ali Geelani Sunday held a meeting with the officials of the Central Relief Committee at Hyderpora head office, in which the speed of relief distribution and the stock position was discussed.

In a statement a spokesman of the Hurriyat (G) said the chairman Central Relief Committee Peer Saifullah also presented the detailed report of the aid and relief material received in cash or kind from the people and the report of distribution process so far.

“It was said in the meeting that the Central Relief Committee is conducting a detailed survey in the whole Valley with regarding affected people and the people who are worst hit of the recent floods and who are now homeless, are being provided with on spot help,” he said.

People have been appealed not to visit the head office for the relief materials. “The activists and cadres of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat are reaching out to the affected people at their door steps with the relief material and this process will remain continue till the resources are available. The meeting repeated the appeal to the well-off people to donate through the already published in different news papers, the personal Bank account number of Geelani sahib for the flood affected people or personally visit the central office Hyderpora and deposit the same with the officials of the Committee,” the spokesman said.

The meeting also discussed the reports received from many districts and the decision regarding the visit to the districts was taken there. Geelani expressed happiness and satisfaction over the relief distribution process and appreciated and encouraged the activists and cadres of the party who are involved in this work.
