Octogenarian Hurriyat patriarch, Syed Ali Geelani, is unwell. However, sources in Hurriyat Conference (g) said that he is stable.
Sources said that Geelani complained of chest pain early this morning and doctors from Al Amin hospital were called. “Doctors advised him rest,” sources said, “he was suffering from fever as well.”
Geelani flew home from New Delhi last Wednesday. He had fallen ill two months back and was flown to Delhi from specialised treatment.
“People are not being allowed to meet him,” sources added. “He is stable; all ok but doctors advised him to take rest.”
Ailing Geelani has acute chest infection.
Meanwhile, his deputy Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, who is not keeping well for last fortnight, has been put under house arrest since Friday. “He is bed ridden,” the sources said, “even though he has been put under house detention.”
