Authorities did not allow Octogenarian separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani, to address a press conference at his residence in Hyderpora, Srinagar on Thursday.

Chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Conference was scheduled to address media at 12 PM.

Police did not allow media persons to reach Geelani’s residence and they were returned from the airport road. “We stayed there for some time but repeatedly denied by police to go towards the venue,” said a correspondent who had among other media persons reached Hyderpora, to cover the press conference.

“It is out of frustration, that the so called government is not even allowing Geelani Sahab to talk to media,” Hurriyat (G) spokesman, Ayaz Akbar told Kashmir Life.

Geelani is undergoing house arrest from November 16. Earlier, he was released from 235 day long spell of house detention on October 29.
