SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday assigned additional charge of Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), to Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, JKAS, as an interim arrangement.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department, Sheikh, who is presently serving as Secretary of JKBOSE, will discharge the functions of the Chairman in addition to his own duties. The order has been issued in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 12(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education Act, 1975.
The arrangement will remain in force until further orders, the notification said.
The decision comes amid the absence of a regular Chairman at the board, which is responsible for conducting examinations and managing academic affairs for schools across the Union Territory.
In the second order, Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, JKAS, Director of School Education, Jammu, has been assigned the additional charge of Director of the Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT).
He will hold the post along with his current responsibilities until further instructions.
