A girl from Khudwani area of Kulam district in south Kashmir, who was injured in an exchange of fire between the militants and government forces two days before, has succumbed to injuries on Saturday morning.

The girl identified as Muskaan on Thursday morning sustained injuries after she was hit by a stray bullet in Wanigund Khudwani in Kulgam district of south Kashmir, near a the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST) research centre after militants and army exchanged gunfire.

The army camp located near the research centre was earlier attacked by militants, the army in retaliation had fired towards the militants. In the exchange of fire, Muskaan received a stray bullet in her shoulder.

Muskaan was soon rushed to district hospital Islamabad for the treatment and then referred to SKIMS for the for the specialised treatment, however, she has succumbed to injuries today morning at SKIMS.
