Day after the annual results of class 12th which were declared in Kashmir provenance, a teenage girl from Baramulla district in north Kashmir tried to end her life by jumping in a river in Batpora area of Sopore on Tuesday.

Reports said that an 18-year-old girl tried to suicide by jumping in the river after she failed to qualify her class 12th exam; however when the locals noticed she was rescued and shifted to a local hospital. the girl is said to be stable now.

Meanwhile, police have taken the cognizance of the incident and further investigations are going on.

As the results were declared, students of the government schools have again come out with flying colors in Higher Secondary Part-II (12th class) examinations in Kashmir division bagging top positions.

Displaying extraordinary performance in Arts stream, the students of government-run educational institutions have walked away with the first 5 positions scoring between 98.6% and 98% marks.
