Greater Kashmir Editor-in-Chief Fayaz Kaloo made it to prestigious body of journalists, Editors Guild of India.
Kaloo is the first Kashmir-based editor, who made it to the ace Indian journalist body.
His name figured in the new executive committee of Editors Guild on Wednesday.
Kaloo shall be sharing space with the renowned scribes, including Harish Khare (Editor-in-Chief, The Tribune Group of Newspapers, Chandigarh), KN Tilak Kumar (Editor-in-Chief, Deccan Herald, Bengaluru), MK Razdan (Editor-in-Chief, PTI, Delhi), Ruchir Garg (Editor, Nai Duniya, Raipur), AK Bhattacharya (Editor, Business Standard, Delhi), Zahid Ali Khan (Editor-in-Chief, Siasat, Hyderabad), Shazi Zaman (Group Editor, ABP TV, Delhi), Vinod Verma (Editor, Digital and Convergence, Amar Ujala, UP), Sachidananda Murthy (Resident Editor, Malayala Manorama, Kottayam), Coomi Kapoor (Consulting Editor, Indian Express Group, Delhi), Jayanta Ghosal (Editor Delhi, Ananda Bazar Patrika, Kolkata), Seema Chisthi (Political Commentator Consulting Editor, IE, Delhi), Vijay Naik (Consulting Editor Delhi, Sakal, Pune).
Kaloo is one among the four special invitees to the EG, including the veteran scribes: Kuldip Nayyar, Mrinal Pande and Patricia Mukhim.
Notably, Kaloo is running Kashmir’s major English daily for last 25 years, besides an Urdu daily and a monthly magazine.
Congrts, Mr.kaloo,in fact its first time after 1947 such prestigious position is being held by a Kashmiri born editor and journalist of repute.
