The students of Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar elected new CASS Welfare Union for 2013-14.
As per the communiqué, Choudri Muzaffar Ali and Rayees Rashid were elected unopposed as president and vice-president respectively, while 412 MBBS students voted to elect new student secretaries of sub-committees of CASS Union which include Faisal Khurshid as secretary academics, Suhail-ur-Rehman Dar as secretary social and aid committee, Rassieq Aslam as cultural secretary and Bilal Ahmad Lone as sport secretary.
The election committee comprised by Prof. Rafiq Ahmad Pampori, principal GMC Srinagar include Prof. Manzoor Qadir Keng as chief election officer, Dr. SM Salim Khan as returning officer, Dr. Zorawar Singh as assistant election & returning officer and the election was observed by Prof. Parvez Ahmad Shah, Prof. Basharat Saleem and Dr. Fayaz Reshi.
According to statement, the CASS union is actively involved in academic and extra-curricular activities in the institution under administrative patronage of principal GMC Srinagar, chairman CASS Union and chairperson of various sub-committee.
