The directive was issued by the Administrator, Associated Hospitals, GMC Srinagar, in pursuance of directions from the General Administration Department (GAD) for mandatory implementation of e-Office across government offices.

Heads of Departments, Medical Superintendents of associated hospitals and heads or in-charges of sections and other subordinate units have been instructed to adopt the system immediately and use it for processing official files and correspondence wherever applicable.

The offices have been asked to complete the required formalities within one week, including furnishing user details, mapping users, completing training and orientation and starting electronic movement of files.

A consolidated compliance report has also been sought by the Administrator’s office within seven days of the issuance of the directive.

The GMC has warned that avoidable delays, non-compliance or deliberate continuation of manual file processing when e-Office is available will be viewed seriously. Action and fixation of responsibility on the concerned officer or official will follow in accordance with applicable rules and instructions.

For implementation, Liaison Officers/Nodal Officers have been designated for the associated hospitals and subordinate offices. They will coordinate with the administrative authorities and the e-Office Nodal Officer to address issues related to the rollout.

The designated officers will also facilitate submission of user details to the IT Department, user mapping or re-mapping, creation of official email accounts, VPN access, training and other requirements needed to make the system operational.
