Tightening its noose around the private schools of the valley involved in violating the government order for winter vacation, the Jammu and Kashmir Government Friday directed the Authorities to cancel the registration of the schools which have paid no heed to the order.

The move comes in the backdrop of strong resentment from parents that certain private schools are yet to announce winter vacations and their children are studying in ice-cold classrooms.

“I have discussed the matter with the authorities and stern action will be taken against the schools violating the government order. Government will not see as a mute spectator, whosoever is violating the order will be dealt severely. I have directed the Director School Education Kashmir to cancel the registration of those schools which are violating the government order for winter vacation, “Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for School education Tara Chand said.

He further said, “The authorities of these institutions will have to face the consequences for acting irresponsibly. Schools which are functional despite the government order should have adhere to the order as the rules are meant for adherence. We will initiate a stern action so that nobody violates the government order again.”

Pertinently despite the government announcement for winter vacation up to class 8th, there had been little follow-up by the private schools. The private schools disobeyed the government orders and did not announce vocations though it was prominently published in all newspapers.
