SRINAGAR: Principal Accounts Offices (Pr AOs) and Pay and Accounts Offices (PAOs) under the administrative control of the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) will remain open on Sunday, September 27, amid a nationwide bank strike scheduled from September 28 to 30.
The decision has been taken to ensure government transactions are processed within the required timeframe ahead of the quarterly closing, according to an Office Memorandum issued by the Office of the Controller General of Accounts on September 25.
The memorandum directed all concerned offices to make the necessary administrative arrangements to ensure uninterrupted functioning on September 27.
The arrangement applies to all Principal Accounts Offices and Pay and Accounts Offices under the administrative control of the CGA.
The three-day nationwide bank strike is scheduled from September 28 to 30. The CGA office said keeping the accounts offices operational on September 27 was necessary to facilitate government transactions in a time-bound manner in view of the quarterly closing.
