Amid the suspense over government formation in J&K, the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has given fresh hints suggesting that she isn’t still interested in government formation.

Fresh hints came after Mehbooba Mufti Sunday flew back to Kashmir after launching full-fledged membership drive of her party in Jammu.

The deadlock over government formation popped up soon after the demise of PDP patron and former J&K chief minister, Mufti M Sayeed on January 7 this year. And since then, PDP boss is keeping everyone guessing over the government formation.

PDP party insiders, however, said their president wants the new government as per the ‘Agenda of Alliance’—the script of ‘north pole-south pole’ alliance.

“Behind the delay in government formation is Madam Mufti’s demand from BJP-led union government of a people-friendly governance structure,” the insiders said. “Since Delhi is yet to deliver on that assurance, therefore the stalement continues.”

Meanwhile, Mehbooba Mufti will be taking her party’s membership drive to frontier district of Kupwara tomorrow, the insiders said.
