Govt Forms Committee for Short-Term Review of Srinagar Master Plan 2025

   

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday constituted a seven-member committee headed by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, to conduct a short-term review of the Srinagar Master Plan-2035.

As per an official order issued by Commissioner Secretary M Raju, the panel will examine the feasibility of Town Planning Scheme (TPS) areas and identify any such areas where the precondition for issuing building permissions may need to be removed.

The committee includes the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, as Chairman and the Vice Chairman of Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) as Member Secretary. Other members are the Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Vice Chairman of J&K Lake Conservation and Management Authority, Chief Town Planner of the Town Planning Organisation Kashmir, and a representative of the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (not below the rank of Additional Secretary).

The panel has also been mandated to examine various directions issued by the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, particularly those concerning buffer zones around Dal and Nigeen lakes, and to propose necessary amendments to the Master Plan-2035 to align with court directives. (KNO)
