Maintaining that disclosure of names of protected persons as “inappropriate”, government put the number of secured persons in State of Jammu and Kashmir as 1680.

Information tabled in house in response to question from MLC, Syed Muhammad Rafiq Shah suggest that as on august 2013, 1680 persons which include 542 categorized and 1139 uncategorized persons have been provided security cover.

Regarding the criteria of providing security, the government responded that State Level Security Coordination Committee (SLSCC) accesses the gravity of threat perception and accordingly extends security cover.
