SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has placed Range Officer Grade-I Sajad Ahmad Khan, who was serving as In-charge Divisional Forest Officer (DFO)/Agrostologist, Kashmir, under suspension pending an inquiry into his conduct.
According to a government order issued by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF)/Head of Forest Force (HoFF), J&K, Khan has been suspended with immediate effect under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The order states that the suspension has been ordered pending an inquiry into his conduct.
During the suspension period, Khan will remain attached to the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests/HoFF, J&K.
Meanwhile, Dr Mehraj Ahmad Sheikh, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) and In-charge DFO, Urban Forestry, Srinagar, has been assigned the additional charge of DFO, Agrostologist, Kashmir.
Dr Sheikh will hold the additional charge alongside his existing responsibilities until further orders.
