The speaker, Jammu and Kashmir, legislative assembly, Murbarak Gul has said that the government was keen to solve the problems of the people of the state, saying that maximum public interest issues will be highlighted in the House during the Budget Session.

The Speaker was speaking at a function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Society (JKRDS) to felicitate him on his elevation as Speaker Legislative Assembly, here today.

As per a statement Gul was earlier given a rousing reception by the members of JKRDS, while greeting him for being elected unanimously as the speaker of LA.

He said legislator of all parties would be given adequate time to highlight the issues of their constituencies and that of general public. He said there will be no compromise wrong reply, if any, furnished by the departments and those responsible for the lapse would be dealt seriously. The speaker said that the assembly session is of great importance in a democratic setup as it provides opportunity to the public representatives to highlight public issues and also point out the areas where government is lacking. He hoped that the proceedings of the house would be conducted in a smooth manner and the legislators of all parties would cooperate in conducting the proceedings of the house in a cordial atmosphere.

Meanwhile, people from all walks of life greeted Gul on his elevation as Speaker of the legislative assembly.
