SRINAGAR: Only Rs 665.19 lakh, or about 16.4 per cent, of the Rs 4,046.38 lakh released against an allocation of Rs 7,300.66 lakh for Gulmarg constituency had been utilised so far, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed the Legislative Assembly.
The figures were provided by the Finance Department in a written reply to a starred question tabled by Gulmarg MLA Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah on allocation and utilisation of UT Capex funds.
Across Jammu and Kashmir, the Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Department has been earmarked Rs 20,206.44 lakh under UT Capex 2026-27 under Scheme 4202-01-201-0011-1427 (Physical Education).
Jammu has received the highest district-wise YSS allocation at Rs 4,751.35 lakh, followed by Srinagar at Rs 2,074.64 lakh, Rajouri at Rs 1,670.63 lakh, Civil Secretariat at Rs 1,564.17 lakh and Ganderbal at Rs 1,504.28 lakh.
Among other allocations, Anantnag has been earmarked Rs 1,361.67 lakh, Kupwara Rs 1,122.31 lakh, Samba Rs 779.86 lakh, Pulwama Rs 714.54 lakh, Kathua Rs 711.23 lakh, Baramulla Rs 553.05 lakh, Poonch Rs 551.60 lakh and Shopian Rs 549.26 lakh.
The allocation for Badgam stands at Rs 167.60 lakh, while Bandipora has been earmarked Rs 327.21 lakh, Doda Rs 391.12 lakh, Kishtwar Rs 236.12 lakh, Kulgam Rs 325.83 lakh, Ramban Rs 229.23 lakh, Reasi Rs 261.79 lakh and Udhampur Rs 358.95 lakh.
The Finance Department also placed the overall district-wise UT Capex position before the House, showing allocations of Rs 16,92,694.51 lakh, releases of Rs 10,64,180.21 lakh and expenditure or utilisation of Rs 2,98,432.17 lakh against the released funds.
The reply was submitted by the Minister in charge of the Finance Department in response to the question seeking district-wise allocations, releases and expenditure, with specific reference to Gulmarg constituency.
