A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces at Laam forest area in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that 42RR of Indian army and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off a forest area of Goitango in Laam village of Tral after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
The said as the searches were intensified, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering an encounter.
The operation was going on when the last reports were filed.
