Incarcerated Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairperson Muhammad Yasin Malik Tuesday while paying glowing tributes to Muhammad Afzal Guru said that Kashmiris will continue their “struggle till the desired goal is not achieved and India does not return the mortal remains of Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru”.

A JKLF statement issued here this afternoon said that crackdown on JKLF continues as Malik along with other leaders including Mushtaq Ajmal, Ashraf Bin Salam and Ghulam Muhammad Dar continue to remain in Srinagar central jail while as district President Budgam Gulzar Ahmad Pahalwan was also arrested by police last night. “Police also raided the residence of martyr Muhammad Maqbool Butt at Trehgam and were looking for his younger brother Zahoor Ahmad Butt. Police also raided the residence of JKLF vice chairman master Muhammad Afzal, zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, district presidents Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), Muhammad Rafiq War and Activits Mushtaq Ahmad,” the statement said.

Malik said, “martyr Muhammad Afzal Guru like martyred father of nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt kissed gallows but refused to budge before oppression and tyranny. He became a victim of Indian enmity towards Kashmiris and was illegally sent to gallows and even denied a proper burial.” “Afzal’s sacrifice is an indelible chapter of Kashmir history and no Kashmiri will forget the tyrannical attitude of Indian state regarding Muhammad Afzal Guru shaheed. Shaheed Afzal followed father of Kashmiri Nation Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and kissed gallows without budging before the tyrants. Nation of Kashmir owes debt to him for his resolve and determination.”
