Intense hailstorm which struck various areas of North Kashmir on Saturday and continued for more than half hour, destroyed orchards in large scale in the region .

According to KNS correspondent, in Kupwara’s Kralpora, Batpora, Rawatpora, Thandipora, Qalamabad, Nowgham and various areas, the severe hailstorm which occurred on Saturday afternoon destroyed the orchards while as several people also got injured.

Reports informed that as people in the region were busy in spraying and adding fertilizers to the fields, the sudden hailstorm created havoc with people moving to safer places.

KNS correspondent, Iqbal Amin from Rafiabad has informed that the similar hailstron has struck the region and continued for around 15 minutes. He added that in Watergham, Dangiwacha, Waripora, Ruhama, Panzula, Chatosa, Chatipora, Kangroosa, Chanam Hatchpora, Ladora and various areas the severe hailstorm has destroyed orchards.

Pertinently, the recent incessant rains have already triggered flood like situation and creating panic among people. Though the weather department has predicted no rains for coming four days, people are scared that the September like situation could emerge at any time in valley which virtually reached at the brink of destruction.
