Independent lawmaker representing North Kashmir’s Langate constituency in state assembly, Er Rasheed Thursday claimed that a Kashmiri youth was killed in Punjab today.

Expressing deep anger and anguish, Rasheed said, “a 12 year old boy namely Irshad Ahmad Lone S/O Javed Ahmad Lone R/O Waisa Handwara at Fagwada Punjab, was stabbed to death at the hands of miscreants today.”

Rasheed, in an Awami Ittihaad Party statement said, “the criminal and other elements have been given a free hand to attack Kashmiris. Javed, who is a business man and exports Kashmiri Shawls every year to various states, had taken his twelve year old son Irshad with him to spend winter vacations, but when he left his residence for his daily routine job and left his twelve year old son at the residence. He on return in the afternoon found him dead in his room. Innocent Irshad had been stabbed several times and the murderers had also stolen shawls and other goods worth lakhs of rupees.”

Rasheed appealed state government to take up the matter with Punjab police so that culprits are arrested and handed over to law.

He added that he is in constant touch with top brasses of Punjab and expresses hope that culprits will be arrested soon.
