SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has nominated a group of judicial officers, including ten women judges, to participate in a major awareness programme on women’s empowerment and legal support scheduled to be held in Srinagar on June 20.
According to an official order issued by Registrar General MK Sharma, the programme, titled “Empowering Women and Strengthening Institutional Legal Support”, will be held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.
The High Court has directed all Chairpersons of the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) in the Kashmir Division to attend the event. Senior judicial officers have also been assigned specific responsibilities for the programme.
Anoop Sharma, Second Additional District and Sessions Judge, Jammu, and Swati Gupta, Registrar Judicial, Jammu, have been tasked with supporting the event, while Preet Simran Kour, Fourth Additional District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, will serve as the programme anchor.
The order nominates ten women judicial officers from various courts and legal institutions across the Kashmir Valley to participate in the awareness campaign. They include Additional District and Sessions Judge Anantnag Masarat Rohi, Additional District Judge (Bank Cases) Srinagar Kusum Lata Pandita, First Additional District and Sessions Judge Srinagar Anjum Ara, Principal Judge Family Court Srinagar Mehreen Mushtaq, Special Mobile Magistrates Fariqa Nazir of Pulwama, Lubna Sultan of Anantnag and Kamiya Singh Andotra of Srinagar, City Munsiff Srinagar Shayesta Nazir, and Principal Magistrates of the Juvenile Justice Boards, Bazila Bashir of Shopian and Farah Bashir of Ganderbal.
The High Court has further directed its e-Courts wing to upload the order on the official website for wider dissemination and public information.
