SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has ordered the transfer and posting of 60 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) across the Union Territory in a major administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening policing and operational efficiency.
The broad reorganisation splits the 60 officers into two major groups: the formal adjustment of 28 newly promoted DSPs and the lateral transfer of 32 existing field commanders. The initial 28 officers have been assigned postings following their recent promotions under Government Order numbers 184-Home of 26 dated March 25, 2026, 222-Home of 26 dated April 13, 2026, and 269-Home of 26 dated May 2, 2026.
Under these promotional adjustments, the newly appointed DSPs have been allocated to the following stations: Sanjay Gupta (PID EXJ965453) to CID SB Ramban; Riyaz Mustafa (EXK982866) to the Crime Training Centre (CTC) Lethpora; Mir Zahid (EXK981234) to Arms/Ammunition Headquarters; Arif Ahmad Ahanger (EXK986558) to the Special Training Centre (STC) Sheeri; Ashwani Kumar (EXJ986443) to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB); Nasir Syed Kirmani (EXK981235) to the Cyber Investigative Centre for Excellence (CICE) Srinagar; and Tahir Ahmad (EXK986744) as DSP IT Crime Headquarters.

To preserve operational readiness during this transition, the order specifies temporary dual-charge arrangements. The DSP of SOG Darhal has been formally mandated to oversee the SOG Kandi unit in Rajouri, in addition to his primary responsibilities, until further orders.
Concurrently, the DSP of the District Administrative Reserve (DAR) Ramban will manage the operational command of SOG Ramban alongside his regular duties until further orders.
