Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen Wednesday claimed the responsibility of the attack on Indian army personnel at Hef Shirmal hamlet of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

At least two Army personnel were injured on Tuesday evening when militants fired upon the army personnel who had arrived in the village with a purpose to cordon it after they had got inputs about the presence of two militants in the area.

“Hizbul Mujahideen Deputy Chief Commander Muhammad Saifullah Khalid announced a reward for the two Mujahideen for their bravery,” the spokesperson said adding that attack on Indian security personnel will continue till Kashmir attains freedom from India.

Meanwhile, Army lifted the cordon of Hef Shirmal hamlet on Wednesday afternoon after they failed to establish any contact with the militants.
