Army Tuesday claims to have busted a hideout in Navapachi area of Marwah Tehsil in Kishtwar District and have claim to have recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the said hideout.

As per the details, acting on a tip off troops of 11 RR launched a massive search operation in Navapachi area and found a natural cave hideout measuring 10X8X4 feet situated on the bank of the river Marusudar.

On search the hideout, the army troops find one AK 56 rifle, one pistol 7.62mm with magazine, one 303 rifle with magazine, 94 rounds of AK 56, 6 rounds of pistol 7.62mm, 5 rounds of 303 rifle,  4 Chinese hand grenades, 5 magazines of AK 56, one IED, one radio set ,  one binocular, one plastic tortue, 9 pencil cells, 2 packets of medicines, 3 packets of blade, one candle, one hair colour, one plastic container, One warm dressing wrapper, two lip cards, 250 grams of tea, one Vaseline, one knife, two steel glasses, two steel plates, one spoon, shaving eraser, one syringe, one tooth brush and one cigarette lighter.

The hideout reportedly belongs  to Hizb Supreme Commander Jahangir Saroori who was active in the area since last 24 years. As per army, “the recovered arms and ammunition has a tendency to cause massive destruction in case the same falls into the hands of anti national elements. IED was destroyed on spot.”
