SRINAGAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reviewed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir following heavy rainfall by speaking separately with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
During the conversations, Shah took stock of the prevailing situation caused by the incessant rains and assured both the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister of all possible assistance from the Central Government to deal with the unfolding situation.
Heavy rainfall has triggered flash floods and landslides in several parts of the Jammu division, affecting normal life and prompting rescue and relief operations. The Centre has assured the Union Territory administration of every possible support to tackle the situation and assist affected residents
