A team of senior doctors from district hospital on Monday met Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, and presented a memorandum against last night’s indiscriminate firing inside hospital premises by government forces. “Hospitals are neutral spaces which should not be targeted in any case,” said a doctor wishing anonymity.
However, an official from the police department said that few youths near the hospital pelted stones on government forces and they resorted to aerial firing to disperse them.
Meanwhile, an official from DC’s office confirming the visit said, “We will investigate the matter properly.”
