Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested several Hurriyat Conference (g) leaders in pre-dawn raids.

Personal Secretary to Hurriyat patriarch, Pir Saifullah, told Kashmir Life that police raided his house around Sehri today and was put under house detention. “I was not even allowed to offer prayers in Masjid,” he said.

Hurriyat Conference (g) sources further said that its leaders including Imtiyaz Hyder, Muhammad Yaseen Attai and Bashir Ahmad Bhat were detained from their residences in Budgam around 3 am.

“They have been detained in Police Station Budgam,” they said.

The amalgam chief, Syed Ali Geelani, continues to remain under house detention.

JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik is under detention in central jail.

Notably, both factions of Hurriyat Conference in association with JKLF are holding a seminar at Geelani’s residence on June 12. The speakers are scheduled to talk about proposed Sainik and Pandit Colonies.
