Hurriyat Conference (G) while expressing its concern over continued detentions of separatist leadersip has strongly criticised the detention of Acting chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Dr GH Mohammad Ganai and Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad terming it as interference in religious affairs.
The Hurriyat Spokesman while castigating the police for such actions said, “We do not understand what is the motive and what the police wants from all this.”
Spokesman said that Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and others were arrested at Newa when they were on way to Chandgam Pulwama where they were expected to attend a Seerat Conference.
The Spokesman strongly condemned the police action and said that administration should come out with explaination, as to why only Tehreek Hurriyat is being prohibited and not allowed to organise the Seerat Conferences.
“No doubt that we do affirm that we will strive for freedom movement but this does not mean that unconstitutional restrictions laid by police will be tolerated and definitely the consequences for the administration might be averse”, he added.
