Hurriyat (m) Castigates Govt on Mirwaiz’s House Detention

Hurriyat (Mm) Spokesperson Monday castigated the state authorities for resorting to house arrest of its Chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Media Advisor Shahid Ul Islam and other leaders and also raiding houses of leaders including Javaid Ahmad Mir, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War and Mushtaq Sofi on eve of first anniversary of devastating floods, it termed the same as “political terrorism of the government”.

Hurriyat (m) Spokesperson stated that crushing the peaceful protest of traders’ community bears testimony to the fact that not only the government is resorting to “oppressive and dictatorial measures” but it has failed in relief and rehabilitation of flood hit people.

The Spokesperson said it is cruel joke being played by drum beating the facade of relief measures by the government while in reality it has not only failed but is crushing logical protests against its inefficiency.

The Spokesperson made it clear that valour and zest of browbeaten nation of Kashmir cannot be broken and the way masses helped themselves during Kashmir floods without state aid is an Eye-opener.

The spokesperson lambasted the arrest of heads of trade bodies as a dictatorial and farcical move and called for their release.
