 A high level delegation of APHC led by its chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday left for New Delhi to meet Pakistan High Commissioner Salman Bashir.

Apart from Mirwaiz, the members in the delegation include, Moulvi Mohammad Abbas Ansari, Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, and Agha Syed Hassan.

“The delegation will have detailed deliberations with the Pakistan High Commissioner to New Delhi, Salman Bashir, regarding the APHC’s upcoming visit to Pakistan. The delegation will also discuss the Kashmir issue, bilateral relations between India and Pakistan and the tangible changes and improvement in the relations between the two countries. In that context, APHC would present the Kashmiri point of view, aspirations, and emotions before the high commissioner and other Pakistani delegates”, said a Hurriyat (M) statement here.

The hurriyat(M) spokesman sternly rejected the reports in certain sections of the press regarding providing of basic amenities to some of  the Hurriyat leaders. Terming such statements as frivolous, spokesman said that Hurriyat leadership was an inalienable part of the Kashmiri people and is not demanding any economic or other benefits.

He said that APHC thinks it its duty to highlight the daily problems of the people.
