Calling for state-wide shutdown on Monday against the killing to two youth by the army, Hurriyat Conference faction led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliberate on filing a case in the Internal Criminal Court (ICC) with regard to the killings.

“The killings and atrocities being carried out in Kashmir on the basis of impunity provided by black laws like AFSPA will be discussed in an emergency meeting of the Hurriyat Conference on July 2. It will be discussed how the attention of international human rights organisation’s attention can be drawn towards the atrocities, killings and politics of vendetta practiced by authorities in Kashmir. We will also decide on lodging a formal complaint with the International Criminal Court in this regard”, Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said in a statement issued here.

While appealing people to observe complete shutdown, the Mirwaiz asked people to impress upon world that Kashmiri’s will not deter from their path of rightful struggle through atrocities through the shutdown.

Expressing serious concern over the killing of youth at Sumbal, the Mirwaiz alleged that Kashmiris were being targeted in a planned manner through ‘state terrorism’. He warned that the policy of ‘state terrorism and atrocities’ will have serious and dangerous consequences.

“There has been no improvement in the situation in Kashmir and such incidents actually portray the real situation of Kashmir. The disputed nature of Kashmir should be recognised by all especially those who term it as an internal matter of India”, the Mirwaiz added.
