Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik who continues to be in police custody along with Hurriyat leader Javid Ahmad Mir and Muhammad Amin Magloo was Saturday taken to SMHS hospital for medical check-up.

“After check-ups he has been again shifted to police station Kothibagh,” a JKLF statement said. The statement said that JKLF vice-chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi also continues to remain under house arrest while as JKLF activists Muhammad Ramzam Sofi and Hafizullah Sofi who were arrested by police three days back are still in police station Parimpora.

The statement added that Malik while describing 27th October as blackest day in the history of Jammu Kashmir, said that this was the day when “Indian army forcefully occupied Jammu Kashmir and snatched our freedom”. “This illegal occupation continues till date and lakhs of Kashmiris have sacrificed their lives for freedom,” he said. Yasin Malik said appealed people of Kashmir to observe a complete shutdown on 27th October as a mark of protest “against illegal and forceful Indian occupation”.

While remembering the sacred sacrifices rendered by Syedna Imam-i- Hussain (RA) and his associates at Karbala, JKLF chief said, “the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions at Karbala is a lesson for all generations.”

Yasin Malik said, “Hussainiyat teaches us unity and oneness. It teaches us that at times when we are to choose between oppressed and oppressors, we should always choose oppressed and oppose oppressors at every cost. We all have one Kalima: La illaha illalllah Mohammad ur Rasoolullah (SAAW) and this is the bond that unites us all. Our Allah is one, our prophet (SAW) is one, our Ka’aba and Qibla is same, that is why we all should be one and united.”

“The struggle in Kashmir is also continuation of Battle of Karbala and acting as commanded by Imam-i-Hussain (RA) we all should support this struggle and resistance,” Malik said.

Malik said, “today tyrants and oppressors have arrested hundreds of those who are siding with the oppressed people. Tyrants and oppressors have unleashed a reign of terror and ban has been imposed on even observing Muharram. This oppression is a glaring example of the mind set of rulers who at the behest of their RSS masters can cross any limit in Muslim and Kashmir enmity.”

While condemning strongly the desecration of Holy Quranic pages at Doda, JKLF chairperson said, “rulers should bear in mind that a Muslim can bear anything but cannot tolerate any desecration of his or her religious symbols.”

Meanwhile Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front diplomatic bureau has presented a memorandum to United Kingdom (UK) foreign and common wealth office in which JKLF has asked United Kingdom to ask Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to shun “policy of oppression and communal politics in Jammu Kashmir”.

Also JKLF has paid rich tributes to youth who laid down their lives for freedom recently at Tangmarg and Shopian.
