Police on Friday stated they have cracked the June 24 Hyderpora militant attack in which eight soldiers were killed.

IGP Kashmir Abdul Ghani Mir revealed to a crowded news conference that they have arrested two persons Naveed-ul-Islam resident of Mochua, Chadoora and Bilal Ahmad lone resident of Khan colony, Chanapora, Srinagar. They duo were part of criminal conspiracy and provided logistic support to the attackers and accompanied the militants to the spot of attack, Mir said.

IGP said the attack was carried out by Irshad Ahmad Ganie alias Abu Abdullah resident of Larkipora, Padgampora, Awantipora and a Pakistani national Hamza alias Zeeshan. Both the militants are Lashkar recruits. The attack was masterminded by Divisional commander of LeT for South Kashmir, Qasim, also a Pakistani militant on the direction of PaK based LeT commander Hanzallah Adnan and Ahmad Bhai.

The investigation, according to Mir revealed there are some other people who have provided logistic support to the attackers. “We have identified them all,” he said.
