Maintaining its record of 2015, ten candidates from J&K have cracked the prestigious Indian Administrative Services (IAS) Examination, result of which was declared by the Union Public Service Commission on Tuesday. The selected candidates include the second position holder of the entire batch.
The list of ten includes; Athar Aamir-ul- Shafi Khan, Deeba Farhat, Sheema Nabi Qasba, Bilal Shafiq Chodhary, Vinay Kumar Langeh, Dr Basharat Qayoom, Syed Junaid Safvi, Safdar Ali, Ruveda and Shakil Ahmad Ganie.
Athar who is at number two this time has improved over the rank of last year when he was at no 560. Athar, 23, a resident of Islamabad in south Kashmir, was undergoing training at the Indian Railways Institute of Transport and Management, Lucknow. This was his second attempt. He is youngest from the state to join the services.
Deeba Farhat has also improved over her ranking of 553 in 2015 to 281 this year. Already in Indian Police Service, Ruveda Salam from North Kashmir is again in the list with ranking of 764.
Daughter of senior state officer Dr. G.N. Qasba, Sheeba Nabi Qasba has managed to secure her berth at no 205. Sheema is a law graduate and was working with leading law firm in New Delhi.
Bilal Shafiq Choudhary of Rajouri has rank of 1019. A boy from Jammu who reports say was working in police department, Vinay kumar langeh has managed to get in the India elite service with ranking of 477.
Dr Basharat Qayoom of Satruna, Kangan has qualified the exam in his first attempt. . A resident of old city Srinagar Syed Junaid safvi, son of famous doctor Dr. Syed Kazim Safvi.
Dr Safdar Ali of Leh secured 980th rank. Management graduate of Kashmir University, Shakeel Ahmad Ganie from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal has ranking of 273.
The results are based on scores in a written examination held in December 2015 and interviews conducted in March-May 2016.
