A film made on Kashmir Floods 2014 is being screened on February 10 in New Delhi.

Made by Kashmiri students, Sailabnama – Kashmir Calling, will be screened in Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia sponsored Aaina Film Festival.

When Kashmir was deluged and wide spread devastation took place due September 2014 Floods, Delhi based Kashmiri students flew to Srinagar for rescue and relief operations.

Back to Delhi, they planned to make a short length film on what happened during the floods, the organizers said.

“The film was shot during the floods while the film makers were involved in volunteer work,” said co-Director of the Film, Qazi Zaid. “The film looks at the devastation caused by the floods but also the spirit of the people who come forward and work together in the face of adversity.”

Produced by Richa Pant & Simon Chambers – faculty at Mass Communication and Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, the film is 20 minutes long with music composition from famous Kashmiri Rap Singer, Roushan Illahi aka MC Kash.
