Four of the 28 shops restored temporarily by the owners after they were destroyed by Pakistani shells in Poonch

Opposition NC has alleged that the government has completely ignored the people in Poonch who suffered in recent shelling. In a statement issued here the party said locals reconstructed at least four shops that were decimated in the recent shelling.

“With government nowhere in sight and no instant help received from administration, residents of Saujiyan area of Poonch, who suffered major loss of their shops in recent shelling of Pakistan today started four temporary shops to ensure that locals of the area do not face any kind of shortage of basic needs,” a statement issued by the Youth NC said. “These shops were made functional in presence of Youth NC Provincial President, Ajaz Jan who is camping in the area for healing touch to the affected people.”

The statement said that all the four temporary shops were started in temporary structures which have been managed by the locals of the area.

“Even after six days of shelling and damage to more than 28 shops, not even a single leader from state government bothered to visit the area to share the pain of poor people and such callous approach clearly represents the careless behaviour of government ” Aijaz Jan, president of Youth NC said.

Jan alleged that Chief Minister has not uttered even a single word for shelling victims as more than two dozen families lost their source of income. “What can we expect from this government?”
