SRINAGAR: An IndiGo flight from Surat to Dubai carrying more than 170 passengers was diverted to Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday morning following a mid-air technical issue, officials confirmed, according to multiple media reports.
The Airbus A320-271N, operating as flight 6E 1507, had departed Surat at 9.45 am and made a precautionary landing in Ahmedabad around 11.40 am, reports The Hindu.
Airport authorities clarified that the diversion was not treated as an emergency. “Due to some technical issues mid-air, the Surat–Dubai IndiGo flight was diverted to Ahmedabad. It was not an emergency landing,” an airport official said.
IndiGo later arranged an alternative aircraft to ensure passengers could continue their journey to Dubai without further disruption.
