India and Pakistan have agreed to defuse the tensions along Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir during a brigade level flag between held here on Monday.

The meeting was held at Chakan-da-Bagh between Indian army and Pakistani army wherein the issues related to on-going tensions along LoC were discussed. Official sources told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that the meeting was held in cordial atmosphere and both the sides gave a patient hearing to each other.

The meeting came after high intensity tensions along LoC which resulted in ceasefire violations and killings of civilians as well as soldiers on both the sides. The sources said that both armies agreed to exercise restraint and take steps to defuse the tension.

The flag meeting was chaired by a senior Brigadier of Indian army and lasted for about an hour.
