Ubaid Ahmad Rather 13, a resident of Watergam area of North Kashmir succumbed to his injuries, according to hospital sources at the SKIMS, on Sunday evening. Ubaid was critically injured during a protest against the execution of Afzal Guru.
Hospital sources said that Ubaid succumbed to his injuries during the surgery late Sunday. Locals told Kashmir Life that more than 5000 people have gathered to offer Nimaz-e-Jinaza for Ubaid. They added that Ubaid’s body reached the village during the night.
He was among the five people injured when CRPF in Wattargam village opened fire on a group of protestors who were shouting anti-India slogans against the hanging.
