SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir on Friday ordered an inquiry into alleged negligence at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chadoora after a video showing an animal inside the hospital went viral on social media.
In a DIPR statement, a spokesperson for the Directorate of Health Services said that following the circulation of the video on Friday an inquiry has been initiated to investigate the alleged negligence at SDH Chadoora in Budgam district.
“The inquiry team will conduct a detailed examination, including reviewing electronic records, CCTV footage, and duty rosters, and will also interview patients and staff members to establish the facts. The committee aims to determine responsibility for any lapses and recommend necessary corrective measures to prevent such incidents in the future,” the statement reads.
The spokesperson further said that the inquiry committee will also assess whether the video was deliberately staged or manipulated to defame a busy government hospital.
“Similar attempts had been made in the past to tarnish the reputation of government hospitals, as seen in cases involving SDH Bijbehara and CHC Pattan, where allegedly fabricated videos were uploaded on social media. If any deliberate attempt to mislead the public is found, the committee will recommend legal action against those responsible.”
